Recibimos invitación de Martine van den Heuvel directora del Instituto para el estudio de la Guerra, Holocausto y Genocidio (NIOD) de Ámsterdam, para la exposición de la obra de Jehanne van Woerkom sobre la Memoria Histórica de España.
Jehanne es una artista holandesa y activista de los Derechos Humanos.
Estuvo en El Salvador y en Bosnia, ha escrito libros que han sido premiados. El año pasado estuvo en Málaga para conocer el genocidio de la carretera de la muerte y en Ronda para conocer nuestras fosas.
También estuvo en el Marrufo, y en la Puerta del Sol con los familiares que allí se concentran pidiendo verdad, justicia y reparación.

La exposición que hizo el año pasado en el Verzets Museum (Museo de la Resistencia) fue impresionante y la divulgación en Holanda de la Memoria Histórica de España se le debe a Jehanne. Yo estuve y viví como cientos de personas pasaban todos los días y tomaban conciencia de que en España aún tenemos sin resolver nuestro drama.
Quien pueda ir al NIOD debe ir y quien pueda divulgar la noticia será una aportación a la memoria histórica.

The NIOD Institute for War, Holocaust, and Genocide Studies warmly invites you to the opening of the exhibition Memoria Histórica – a visual story of the bitter legacy of the Franco dictatorship on 4 February 2015.
During the Spanish Civil War and the following years under the dictatorship of Franco, many thousands of Spanish civilians were murdered because of their political or religious views. Today, relatives who survived these decades often have no clue as to what happened to their loved ones or where their bodies were buried. Every Thursday they gather on the Plaza Puerta del Sol in the Spanish capital Madrid. Holding signs with portraits of their lost family members, these protestors ask for truth, justice and recognition.
With Memoria Histórica artist Jehanne van Woerkom aims to give prominence to the neglect of the bitter Franco legacy and the thousands of murdered civilians. “I was present during the weekly demonstration on the central square of Madrid: the Plaza Puerta del Sol”, says Van Woerkom. “Similar to the Madres de Plaza de Mayo in Argentina, these family members are looking for truth and justice. I register, listen, ask and try to visualise this drama. The Spanish earth hides a mass grave. We need to break the silence.”
